Who can join
Pixl is an official Hack Club YSWS, so the standard Hack Club eligibility rules apply. Read this once before sinking 20 hours into a project.
Age
You have to be 18 or under at the moment you ship. That's a global Hack Club rule, checked against the birthday on your account.
Turning 19 while your project sits in the review queue doesn't auto-reject it. It gets flagged for manual review instead, and a reviewer writes a justification before making the call. Still, don't sit on a finished build until the last minute. Ship it when it's ready.
What we need from you
Two things, both linked to your Hack Club account:
- Your birthday, for the age check above.
- A physical mailing address, because shop items and prizes are real packages sent to your door.
Both sync over when you log in with Hack Club. Check your account page and make sure they're right, especially the address if you've moved recently.
Our backend talks to Hack Club's Unified Database to track shipments. The place you'll notice: checkout blocks orders when there's no valid mailing address on file.
Projects that don't count
Two hard lines:
- School coursework, meaning anything assigned for a class grade.
- Projects Hack Club has already funded or paid you for.
Every ship makes you tick a box confirming neither applies. Read it before you click. Submitting ineligible projects is how accounts get banned, rather than just returned for edits.
Coming back to an older project of yours isn't banned, but our system cross-checks Hack Club's archive of shipped projects. If you're building on top of earlier work, say clearly in your writeup what's new. Being upfront turns a flag into a normal conversation.
Where you live
Anyone eligible can take part, anywhere. The only thing that changes is the shop: items are filtered by region (US, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, India, Africa) based on what carriers will actually deliver. You'll only see what we can reliably get to you.
